- Five reasons to call out to God!
When he calls to me, I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will rescue him and honor him.
With long life I will satisfy him and show him my salvation.”
Psalm 91:15-16
When we call out to God, He will:
ANSWER US
No voice is too faint for God to hear. Neither can any noise drown out the voice of someone he loves.
Behold, the LORD’s ear [is not] dull, that it cannot hear; Isaiah 59:1
BE WITH US IN TROUBLE
He guarantees that nothing can separate us from his love (Rom 8:35-39). He also promises us that He will never leave us or forsake us.
“I will never leave you nor forsake you” Hebrews 13:5
RESCUE AND HONOUR US
The great creator and sustainer of all life will rescue us (Col 1:16, Php 2:5-8).
Behold, the LORD’s hand is not shortened, that it cannot save Isaiah 59:1
He will also honour anyone who honours Him.
for those who honour me I will honour, and those who despise me shall be lightly esteemed 1 Samuel 2:30
SATISFY US, WITH LONG LIFE
The one who died, is now alive and will never die again has the keys of Death and Hades (Rev 1:17-18). He is the source of physical and eternal life (Joh 1:1-4, Col 1:16, Joh 14:6). He promises eternal life to anyone who calls out to Him (accepts Him as their saviour) – no exceptions!
For “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” Romans 10:13
SHOW US HIS SALVATION.
Our Lord promises to come and take us to be with Him forever.
For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a cry of command, with the voice of an archangel, and with the sound of the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we will always be with the Lord. 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17
Our God, who cannot lie (Tit 1:2), is sovereign and makes each of these promises. Unlike us, He is also inherently righteous and holy.
Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will hear you. Jeremiah 29:12
