Benefits of Spending Time with God – Part 4
I waited patiently for the LORD; he inclined to me and heard my cry. He drew me up from the pit of destruction, out of the miry bog, and set my feet upon a rock, making my steps secure. He put a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God. Many will see and fear, and put their trust in the LORD. Psalm 40:1-3
Building on previous snippets, we now consider our Lord’s kindness and gentleness. It is wonderfully reassuring to see how the Lord especially reaches out to Thomas even though he doubted his resurrection. He is truly an amazing, wonderful, loving and kind God!
THOMAS’S DOUBTS BECOME CONVICTIONS (JOHN 20:24-28)
A week after appearing unto his disciples (Joh 20:19), our Lord appeared unto his loved ones again (Joh 20:24-29). Thomas was not there the first time and stated he would only believe that our Lord rose from the dead if he saw it with his own eyes (Joh 20:24). Perhaps he thought it was too good to be true. Regardless, even though he doubted, he went to the place where he knew our Lord could be found. This occasion shows us that all we need is to have the smallest amount of faith to be able to benefit from his presence. This occasion also shows us that when doubts and fears arise the best thing we can do is to go to the scriptures and pray (2 Tim 2:15) – it is there we will find our Lord Jesus Christ and experience fellowship with the Good Shepherd who knows his sheep (Joh 10:14). It is there where convictions will replace any doubt

In my distress I called upon the LORD; to my God I cried for help. From his temple he heard my voice, and my cry to him reached his ears. Psalm 18:6
