Our Lord has recorded several occasions that show us that when we spend time with him, we are blessed. Whilst we may not see him as those recorded in the scriptures did – we can have an equally blessed experience when we meditate (on the scriptures) and pray – whether it be alone or with others.

Five records that prove this are:

ISAIAH IN AWE: ISAIAH 9:1-7

Isaiah’s experience (Isa 6:1-7) shows us that when we come into our Lord’s presence, we can see His magnificent glory, which directly affects our appreciation for him and understanding of ourselves.  Isaiah saw several wonderful aspects of our Lord including how His glory filled the temple (Isa 6:1 – to the exclusion of everything else) and how the seraphim deliberately covered their feet and face and cried “Holy, Holy and Holy”.  Seeing these heavenly beings, hearing the voice that called and smelling the smoke that filled the room he concludes that he is not worthy to be there because he is a “man of unclean lips”.  Perhaps the greatest blessing we have when see the Lord as Isaiah did is that we will be in awe of Him while simultaneously being reminded of our unworthiness, leading us to consider his indescribable love, grace and mercy.
