- Inspiring Worship – Miriam’s example
Let's watch like Miriam did
Then Miriam the prophetess, the sister of Aaron, took a tambourine in her hand, and all the women went out after her with tambourines and dancing. And Miriam sang to them: “Sing to the LORD, for he has triumphed gloriously; the horse and his rider he has thrown into the sea.” Exodus 15:20-21
Miriam inspired by the praise and worship of the children of Israel (which was led by Moses) inspired the women of Israel to worship, their worship I believe would have blessed the entire nation – not just the women who went out. This account shows us the tremendous contagious effect of worshipping in spirit and truth (Joh 4:24) – it cannot be contained. Further, it also shows that a congregation can be lifted to new levels of appreciation of our great God and Father by one person following the lead of the Holy Spirit.
Therefore let us be grateful for receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, and thus let us offer to God acceptable worship, with reverence and awe, Hebrews 12:28
